Grant Writing
Great ideas to transform our food system are everywhere—I help organizations secure the funding to make them real.
I provide full-service grant writing, coaching, and application review for food systems organizations of all types. Since 2019, I’ve helped more than
40 nonprofits, grocery stores, meat processors, farmers markets, and small businesses access foundation and government funding.
To date, I’ve supported clients in securing $4.5 million for food system projects. Funded work has included everything from creating regional farmers market marketing plans, to building on-site farms at correctional facilities to supply local schools, to developing commercial kitchens for veterans and their families, expanding produce cooler capacity in grocery co-ops, and investing in food recovery and waste-reduction infrastructure.
I have extensive experience with USDA grant programs, including:
Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP)
Local Food Promotion Program (LFPP)
Patrick Leahy Farm to School Grants
Healthy Food Financing Initiative (HFFI), including Partnership and FARE Fund applications
NRCS, SARE, and Value-Added Producer Grants
If full-service grant writing isn’t what you need, I also offer grant coaching and application review. I frequently work with clients to strengthen proposals, clarify strategy, and build internal capacity—so teams are better positioned to pursue funding long after the application is submitted.
